Location & privacy

Your plant locations belong to you. Debbie's Wild Wisdom never shares exact coordinates unless you explicitly choose to share them.

How we handle your location

Default visibility

Applied to new observations. You can change it per plant on the result screen.

🌱 Rare, protected, or endangered species are always shown as community-only — their exact coordinates stay hidden no matter what you choose here.

Allow GPS capture

Attach coordinates to new observations when your browser grants permission.

Use location to refine identification

Sends an approximate region to the AI as a soft prior. Image features still come first.

Hide exact coordinates in this app

Display location rounded to roughly 11 km. Stored data stays precise unless you delete it below.

Coming soon

The visibility system is built to power these gardener features as they arrive.

  • Saved plant-hunting spots & foraging routes
  • Favourite wildflower locations
  • Elderberry patches & seasonal harvest spots
  • Personal garden mapping
  • Friends & group sharing — revoke anytime

Delete location data

Removes coordinates from every saved observation and identified plant. Photos and notes are kept.

How we use location

  • • GPS is read only after you tap "Use GPS" on the Identify screen.
  • • Coordinates are stored locally in your browser, never on a server.
  • • When identification uses location, only a rounded latitude/longitude and broad region hint are sent — not your address.
  • • You can turn it off or delete everything at any time on this page.
